COHOTA is a group of pilots and aircraft owners who care deeply about the Camarillo and Oxnard Airports. COHOTA was at the forefront of the successful effort to seek a fair and equitable ground lease for our privately-owned hangars at Oxnard and Camarillo Airports. COHOTA members are also involved in providing public feedback for Airport-related growth and development issues, including relations with the cities of Camarillo and Oxnard, noise abatement programs and the updating of the airports' Master Plans.
COHOTA originated back in the 1980's as the Camarillo Airport Association, supporting the owners and builders of over 300 private hangars at Camarillo Airport. In 1999, the organization was re-incorporated as the Camarillo Airport Hangar Owners Association (CAHOA), and in 2019, the organization was expanded to include hangar owners at Oxnard Airport as well as renters at both Camarillo and Oxnard Airports. Now known as the Camarillo Oxnard Hangar Owners & Tenants Association (COHOTA), we support hangar owners and tenants through local government advocacy and community involvement.
COHOTA is registered as a non-profit 501(c)(6) corporation, and is led by a volunteer Board of Directors.
